Uttarakhandi stuck in Oman returns home to India

A native of Chinyalisaud in Uttarkashi district, Amit Singh finally returned to India on Thursday, from Muscat in Oman where he was stranded for some time. He succeeded in returning home with the help of Dubai-based Uttarakhandi Roshan Raturi, who has helped a number of Indian in dire straits return home.Singh had gone to Muscat in 2022 to earn his livelihood.

However, his situation soon deteriorated as he was reportedly not paid his salary by the company he was employed in. The said company soon shut down and its owner went away to London in the UK. This exacerbated the problems being faced by Singh as his passport too had not been returned to him by his employer. The expiry of his visa further worsened his situation. In such a situation, Raturi helped him by first helping him get a passport and then facilitating the completion of other formalities before ensuring his return to India.

Returning to his motherland, Singh thanked Raturi for the help he had provided to ensure his safe return to India.
