PNS/ UTTARKASHI
The Uttarakashi district magistrate Meherban Singh Bisht declared public holiday in the district on Tuesday to mark the occasion of Makar Sankranti and Magh Mela. All the government and private establishments as well as the State-run and private educational institutions will remain closed on the day as per the order issued by the DM. Earlier, January 18 was designated as the Makar Sankranti holiday. It was amended to change the date from January 18 to January 14.
