Uttrakhand gearing up for G-20 Summit, traditionally

Ganga Darshan would be a major attraction for the foreign guests who would attend the G-20 Summit. They would be welcomed traditionally with tilak and tulsi mala and the ghats at Muni Ke Reti, Lakshman Jhula and Rishikesh would be decorated with ghee lamps on the lines of Ajodhya.
Mention worthy, in course of the G-20 Summit, three working group meetings would be held in Uttarakhand. The first meeting would be held from 25 to 27 May and the second from 26 to 28 May. A large number of foreign delegates are likely to attend these.
Uttarakhand’s traditional musical instruments like dhol and damau would be played while welcoming the foreigners. Besides, traditional dances of the state like thadiya would be held to entertain the guests. This aside, the traditional cuisine of Uttarakhand would be presented to the guests and the products for which Uttarakhand is known world over would be presented by way of gifts. Booklets would be published that will showcase the Himalayan state’s hoary culture.
