The Uttarakhand Vidyalayi Shiksha Parishad (UVSP) is expected to announce the results of the classes X and XII board examinations before April 30 this year, according to secretary Vinod Simlati. This year’s board examinations under the UVSP began on February 21 and concluded on March 11. Following the completion of the exams, the evaluation process for the answer sheets started on March 21.
Regarding the status of the results, Simlati stated that the evaluation of the answer sheets was completed on April 4. He said that this year, an early declaration of results us expected due to changes in the evaluation process. Previously, results were based on an OMR system, where teachers at the examination centers recorded marks on OMR sheets, which were then sent to the UVSP headquarters for processing—a lengthy procedure.
He informed that this year, the UVSP has implemented an online system at all 29 evaluation centres, allowing teachers to directly input marks that are immediately transmitted to the UVSP headquarters. Officials at the headquarters will then verify these marks, after which the results will be declared. In this way, it is expected that this year, the result will be declared before April 30, he said.
Simlati also added that this year’s results are anticipated to be better, as teachers were trained on model question papers before the board examinations, which helped them prepare students effectively.
In Class X, a total of 1,13,688 candidates appeared for the board examination, which included 1,11,420 institutional candidates and 2,268 individual candidates. For Class XII, 1,096,699 candidates took the board examination, comprising 1,052,298 institutional candidates and 4,401 individual candidates.
