Arrangements made to vaccinate children in their schools; online registration to start from Jan 1.

The state health department would undertake a massive programme to vaccinate the children of 15 to 17 years of age from January 3.Under the plan the children who were born in the year 2007 or before would be vaccinated against the Covid-19 in their schools. For vaccination the online registration would start from January 1. For getting vaccinated the adolescents should show their Adhar card or school Identity card. The children not going to the school can get vaccines at the vaccination centers. The children would be administered with the Covaxin of the Bharat Biotech limited. The chief medical officer (CMO) of Dehradun Dr Manoj Upreti said that all the parents should ensure that their wards ( 15 to 17 years of age) are vaccinated. He said that all healthcare workers have been given necessary training for vaccinating adolescents and coordination with the education department is being done for the purpose.
The CMO added that the department has made all preparations for the drive.
