Vaccination of homeless people starts in U’khand

Pace of vaccination is gathering momentum in the state- CM Dhami

The state administration has started a special campaign to vaccinate the homeless population of Uttarakhand with Covid-19 vaccines. The campaign was initiated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami in a programme organised at Raipur crossing in Dehradun on Monday. Under the campaign, the teams of the health department would visit different slums and other areas for vaccinating the destitute in the state.

Speaking on the occasion the chief minister said that the task of vaccinating the entire adult population would be completed in the next four months. He said that the people living in the slums and shanties would be administered the vaccines of Covid-19 as per the protocol. The CM claimed that the pace of vaccination in Uttarakhand is gathering momentum and camps are being set up in remote and mountainous areas of the state for the purpose. He asserted that the state government is fully prepared to tackle the probable third wave of the disease. The CM appreciated the efforts of social workers, civil society and others and said that gave valuable support to the government during the pandemic period. Dhami also distributed ration kits provided by Akshay Patra organisation and masks to the homeless on the occasion.

The health minister Dhan Singh Rawat, Rajpur MLA Khajan Das, Raipur MLA Umesh Sharma ‘Kau’ and district magistrate (DM) of Dehradun R Rajesh Kumar were present on the occasion.
