Various decisions taken by Dhami cabinet

A meeting of the State cabinet was held in the secretariat on Saturday. Many issues came up for discussion during the meeting chaired by the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami. In the meeting the cabinet decided to set up a centre of excellence in the ITI Bajpur in Udham Singh Nagar district and endorsed the proposal to start training of five different sectors in the Sahaspur skill hub in Dehradun district.
In an attempt to give a new impetus to the film industry in the State the cabinet approved the Uttarakhand Film Policy 2024 in the meeting. In another decision the cabinet approved a plan for production of certified seeds of traditional crops and their distribution to different clusters of farmers under the local crop encouragement programme. In the meeting the cabinet approved the Uttarakhand mounted police service regulation 2024 and amended the Uttarakhand subordinate civil court clerical cadre service regulation 2007. A decision to upgrade Tesil Pati in Champawat district to Nagar Panchayat was also made in the meeting.
The cabinet also decided to extend the area covered under the Khatima municipality in Udham Singh Nagar district. It was expected that the draft of the bill on Uniform Civil Code (UCC) will also be presented before the cabinet in the meeting but it was not tabled. It is learnt that the draft will be presented in the meeting of the cabinet to be held on February 5. The UCC bill will then be tabled in the assembly on February 6.
