Various social workers and Congress leaders joined the Bharatiya Janata Party in the presence of BJP State president Mahendra Bhatt and Haridwar MP Ramesh Pokhriyal ‘Nishank’ here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Bhatt said that those who have joined the party impressed by works of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will be fully respected. He told the new inductees that they have to work for the development of Uttarakhand and the nation in the ideological, organisational and disciplined party that the BJP is. Bhatt later told the media that with this programme, the party’s membership campaign had entered its third stage. Senior office bearers of various parties and senior workers of the booth level had been inducted into the party in the first and second stages respectively. Entrepreneurs, educationists along with personalities in the health and other professional and social spheres had been inducted into the party on Friday, he said.
Addressing the gathering, Nishank said that the nation and global community had acknowledged PM Modi’s capacity to turn vision into mission. He exhorted those who had joined the party to work with dedication in the service of the nation.
One of those who joined the party, former State minister and educationist Manohar Lal Sharma said that many had joined the BJP considering the manner in which PM Modi is taking the nation forward even in difficult circumstances. Recalling his experience with the Congress, he said that the party now lacks democracy as there is no responsible person in the high command to whom a member can communicate party related or personal issues. Former Congress State general secretary Rishipal Baliyan said that they will sincerely undertake all works assigned to them.
