The Meerut-based Shri Vekateshwara University organised a programme on Saturday to congratulate the chairperson of the Vekateshwara group of institutions Sudhir Giri on his having received an invitation as a special guest at the Ram temple consecration ceremony slated in Ayodhya on Monday.
Among the dignitaries present were the Uttar Pradesh minister Sanjay Singh Gangwar, the administrator of Gurukul Kanya Mahavidyalaya Sumedha and the pro-chancellor of Shri Venkateshwara University Rajeev Tyagi. Addressing the programme, Gangwar said that the invite for the auspicious occasion extended to Giri amounted to a tribute to his tireless endeavour to blend education with the country’s cultural ethos.
Sumedha in her address said that Lord Ram embodies a vibrant centre of faith for all Indians, irrespective of caste and creed. While expressing gratitude for the invite, Giri said that it was not for an individual but for all the devotees of Lord Ram in Meerut and Moradabad divisions of Uttar Pradesh. This was a divine blessing, he added.
