On the eve of International Women’s Day, Shri Venkateshwara University hosted the Venkateshwara Matrushakti Samman Samaroh-2026 on Saturday. On the commemorative occasion, a number of accomplished women who have done remarkable work in multiple fields were felicitated. Further, a host of Brahmakumaris, engaged in empowering women in the field of Rajyoga and spirituality, were also honoured.
Inaugurating the programme, the chairman of the Venkateshwara group of institutions, Sudhir Giri listed multiple women empowerment schemes rolled out by Narendra Modi government. The pro-chancellor of the university, Rajeev Tyagi said that women have been revered in India for centuries. “They will always be revered in line with the essence of Indian culture,” he said.
