An orange alert (be prepared to take action) has been issued again for parts of the State. The State Meteorological Centre has issued the orange alert for heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Tehri districts on Tuesday. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and very intense to extremely intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in Dehradun and Tehri districts today.
Further, a yellow warning (watch) has also been issued for heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Pauri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar, Champawat, Nainital and Haridwar districts. Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in the remaining districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in all districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be heavy to very heavy in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 23 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was witnessed in various parts of the State on Monday with 39 millimetres in Haridwar, 31.5 millimetres in Chakrata, 27 millimetres in Sankri, 23.3 millimetres in Nainital, 21.5 millimetres in Badkot, 20.8 millimetres in Pithoragarh, 11 millimetres in Pauri and 7.11 millimetres in Dhanaulti.
