Very heavy rain likely in two districts, heavy rain likely in eight

The State meteorological centre has issued an orange alert (Be Prepared) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain likely to occur at isolated places in Chamoli and Bageshwar districts on Sunday. A yellow warning (Be Updated) has also been issued regarding the possibility of heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Tehri, Dehradun, Pauri, Nainital, Champawat and Pithoragarh districts. Thunderstorms accompanied with lightning/intense to very intense spells of rain are likely to occur at isolated places in all districts of the State today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and at most places in the remaining districts of the State.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to witness a partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, of which one or two spells may be intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 30 degrees Celsius and 24 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
Meanwhile, light to moderate rain was reported in various parts of the State on Saturday with 28 millimetres in Tanakpur, 23 millimetres in Chamba, 20.5 millimetres in Nainital, 19 millimetres in Purola, 15.5 millimetres in Bhimtal, 15 millimetres in Dhanaulti and one millimetre in Dehradun. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 30.5 degrees Celsius and 24.1 degrees Celsius in Dehradun, 32 degrees Celsius and 25.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20.3 degrees Celsius and 15.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 24.4 degrees Celsius and 17.4 degrees Celsius in New Tehri.
