Very heavy rain warning issued for parts of Kumaon today

Thunderstorms with lightning and intense showers likely in isolated places
While various parts of the State witness light to moderate rain with intense spells in some places, the State meteorological centre has issued heavy to very heavy rain warning for parts of the State on Sunday. The meteorological centre has issued a warning (alert) regarding the possibility of heavy to very heavy rainfall likely to occur at isolated places in districts of Kumaon region on Sunday. The centre has also issued a warning (watch) regarding the possibility of thunderstorms accompanied with lightning and intense showers likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Uttarakhand today. Apart from this, light to moderate rain / thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in districts of Kumaon region and in many places in Garhwal region on Sunday.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky. Few spells of light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely to occur, which may be heavy/intense in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 26 degrees Celsius and 20 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Sunday.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 25.4 degrees Celsius and 21.5 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 21.6 degrees Celsius and 20.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 12 degrees Celsius and 10.7 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 17.6 degrees Celsius and 14.4 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
