The budget session of Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha will commence from February 18 in Dehradun. The session will culminate on February 24. The finance minister Premchand Agarwal said on Wednesday that the State government has decided to hold the budget session of the Assembly in Vidhan Sabha building Dehradun.
The Vidhan Sabha speaker Ritu Khanduri had recently requested the State government to hold the budget session in Dehradun. She said that since the process of National e- Vidhan Application (NeVA) of the Vidhan Sabha building in Gairsain, is currently underway, the government should consider holding the session in Dehradun.
The Vidhan Sabha secretariat is planning to hold a paperless budget session this year. The process of digitisation (NeVA) of the Assembly building in Dehradun is complete so the Speaker Khanduri requested the government to hold the budget session in Dehradun.
The annual budget of Uttarakhand this year is likely to be to the tune of Rs one lakh crore. Last year the Finance minister had presented a budget of Rs 89,230.07 crore for the financial year 2024-25. Later the State government tabled a supplementary budget of Rs 5000 crore during the Monsoon session of Assembly.
