The Vigilance arrested an assistant transport inspector- posted at Roorkee in Haridwar district- on the charge of taking Rs 10,000 as bribe. Earlier, a business man had lodged complaint with the Vigilance, stating that the accused was demanding the amount from him on the pretext of allowing his truck coming from Punjab into Haridwar. The Vigilance later laid a trap and caught the accused officer red-handed.
