The villagers of Dudhali and Simlass Grant villages under Doiwala tehsil are facing problems of worm-filled drinking water and wild animal attack, particularly elephant attacks. The wild animals are entering villages from Lacchiwala forest range. An elephant went on a rampage recently and broke down part of a wall of a villager’s house. Notably, the wild elephants keep entering villages and feasting on the crops grown by the villagers, resulting in great financial loss for the villagers, particularly the farmers. A villager Bhupendra said that nearly every night, elephants are entering the village.
In another grim problem for the villagers, those from Dudhali village keep getting water filled with worms and insects. Though the government has been executing projects aimed at supplying piped water to the villages the villagers are still deprived of pure drinking water. The villagers are demanding the Jal Sansthan officers to visit the village and have the supply pipes checked.
