Venkateshwara Institute of Medical Sciences (VIMS) and Uttar Pradesh Orthopaedic Association (UPOA) jointly hosted a one-day orthopaedic workshop on the topic of pelvic acetabular trauma in Meerut on Monday. Over 125 orthopaedic specialists from Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram and Hyderabad, among others discussed knee replacement, hip replacement, advanced surgery of sports injury and pelvic surgery using the latest technology in detail during the workshop. The organisers said that they also brainstormed on painless advanced surgery techniques.
Inaugurating the workshop, the chairman of Venkateshwara Group Sudhir Giri said that the group was committed to providing healthcare services to the country and western Uttar Pradesh, in particular. Renowned orthopaedic surgeon Dr Nazmul Hooda said that VIMS had helped over 200 economically unprivileged persons with free knee and hip replacement in the last one year. The secretary of UPOA Dr Rajat Kapoor also spoke on the occasion.
