Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the objective of the State government is providing equal opportunities to every citizen of the State. He was addressing a public meeting on Wednesday at Jyotirmath in Chamoli in support of Sushma Dimri, the BJP candidate for the position of Chairperson municipal council of Jyotirmath.
He said that the pace of development will become three times under the triple engine government of BJP in the State after victory of party candidates in elections of urban local bodies.
The CM said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the development of the State has attained new heights.
He said that work on the development of Badrinath and Kedarnath shrines is going on at a fast pace and concrete steps are being taken to improve health, education, power and other infrastructure in the rural and urban areas of the State. Taking a dig at the opposition Congress, the CM said that while BJP is working dedicatedly for development of the State, the Congress party has always promoted corruption in the State. The Congress has always defamed the Sanatan Dharma. Dhami warned that in the unlikely scenario of Congress party’s victory, the people will get only excuses from the party and not development. He added that the Congress party has always engaged in the politics of power and has done nothing for the development of the State.
The CM said that the state government is working in the direction of setting up a geothermal power plant in Tapovan which will generate employment opportunities for the local youngsters. He said that the winter Char Dham Yatra will give employment on the Yatra route throughout the Yatra. Dhami said that the State government has spent a sum of Rs 1,700 crore for rehabilitation of people and stabilisation of subsidence affected Jyotirmath.
The CM appealed to the people to vote for BJP candidates in the municipal elections.
The State president and the Rajya Sabha MP Mahendra Bhatt, former cabinet minister Rajendra Bhandari, Nikesh Chauhan, Shailendra Panwar, Kishore Panwar, Sandeep Nautiyal, Krishnamani Thapliyal and others were present on the occasion.
