Cycle rally imparts voter awareness message

Acting on the instructions of the chief electoral officer, B V R Purushottam, a voter cycle rally was organised to make voters aware of their voting rights. Purushottam himself covered a distance of 20 km and over 250 cycle lovers participated in the rally. The rally started with the voter oath after which it passed through Police Lines, Araghar Chowk, EC Road and Rajpur Road and then crossing Canal Road, it reached Kathbangla bridge. From there the rally returned to Police Lines ground via the same route. After the rally concluded, some the participants belonging to the youngest and oldest age groups were presented with gifts.
Addressing the gathering, Purushottam said that the purpose of this event was to make voters aware about their health and voting rights. The additional chief electoral officer, Vijay Kumar Jogdande said that the Election Commission has now fixed four dates in a year and the voters who have completed 18 years of age on January 1, April 1, July 1 and October 1 can register their names in the voter list by filling the Form 6.
