Voter awareness vans flagged off by CEO U’khand

With an objective of encouraging the women and youngsters to register in the voter lists, the chief electoral officer (CEO) Uttarakhand, Sowjanya flagged off the voter awareness vans from the state secretariat on Monday.
Informing about it Sowjanya said that a special revision programme of the electoral rolls is at present going on in view of the upcoming assembly elections and these vans would create awareness about this programme. She said that one van each in Garhwal and Kumaon division has been pressed into service. Informing further about the routes of these vans she said that in Garhwal division the van would cover Dehradun, Vikasnagar and Chakrata on November 15, Tyuni, Purola and Badkot on November 16, Uttarkashi, Tehri and Ghansali on November 17, Tilwara, Agastyamuni and Ukhimath on November 18, Rudraprayag, Gauchar and Karnprayag on November 19, Srinagar, Pauri and Satpuli on November 20, Lansdwone, Kotdwar and Haridwar on November 21 and Bahadrabad, Luxar and Roorkee on November 22. Similarly the other vehicle would cover different areas of Kumaon division. She said that a team of artists would accompany the van and they would create awareness by street plays. The van would also have SWEEP material and a public address system.
The CEO appreciated the street play enacted by the artists at Secretariat before flagging off the vehicles. The joint CEO Pratap Shah, deputy CEO Jitendra, assistant CEO Mastu Das, Sweep nodal officer Mohammad Aslam and others were present on the occasion.
