VP Dhankar to arrive in U’khand on 2-day maiden visit today

The Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar is coming to Uttarakhand on a two-day visit starting on October 26 and this will be his maiden visit to the State since he assumed the office. Sharing details of his itinerary in the State, senior administrative officers said that he would first go to Gangotri shrine on the first day of his visit and the next day he would also visit Kedarnath Dham and Badrinath Dham. He would on October 27 address the closing ceremony of the Country- Led Initiative (CLI) to be hosted by the Union ministry of environment, forest and climate change at the Forest Research Institute in Dehradun. Besides, he is likely to visit Raj Bhavan in Dehradun.
Meanwhile the district administration of Chamoli has started gearing up for the visit of the Vice President and his wife.
As per their schedule, they will reach Badrinath at 10:30 AM by a special Air Force plane and will carry out Puja and Darshan at the Badrinath temple from 10:45 AM to 11:30 AM, said the Chamoli district magistrate Himanshu Khurana. He said that Dhankhar and his wife would leave Badrinath at 11:30 AM for Dehradun. He said that district administration has started making arrangements for the arrival of the VP and his wife. Khurana also held a meeting of all the officers on Wednesday to ensure every department concerned makes proper arrangements. He instructed the superintendent of police Rekha Yadav to tighten security besides making other required arrangements at Badrinath Dham and Gauchar helipad. The officials from various departments including forest and health were also present in the meeting.
