Wanted fraudster arrested from Rudraprayag

The Pauri district police arrested a fraud accused Praveen with a bounty of Rs 10,000 on his arrest, from Rudraprayag in connection with a case registered against him in Srinagar police station in the district in October 2022. He originally hails from Hansi, Haryana. The accused is learnt to be a history sheeter with multiple cases registered against him in Hansi, Haryana and Rudraprayag and Srinagar in Uttarakhand. The accused was sent to jail after he was produced in the court.
According to information received, Babita Devrari, resident of New Kamleshwar Marg, Srinagar of Pauri district, had lodged the first information report in Srinagar police station on October 21, 2022. As per the report, an unknown person had duped her of Rs 37,000 by changing her ATM card on 17 October 2022. The police registered a case against the unknown person under section 420 of Indian Penal Code. During investigation, it was learnt that the accused had earlier been lodged in the Central Jail Hisar, Haryana in connection with a fraud case.
The Pauri senior superintendent of police Shweta Choubey had instructed police personnel to constitute a police team to crack the case and arrest the accused at the earliest and announced a bounty of Rs, 10,000 for the arrest of the fraudster. The police team under the inspector in-charge Ravi Kumar Sani went to several places in search of the absconder and recently succeeded in arresting Praveen from Rudraprayag.
