Parts of the plains in the State are likely to experience cold day conditions again on Sunday. Foggy conditions are also expected to continue in the plains today. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of dense fog likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and cold day conditions likely to occur at isolated places in these districts today.
Further, moderate to dense fog is likely to occur in some parts of Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts and adjoining plains of Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts during the night/morning hours on Sunday. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State today. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky today with shallow fog/mist likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 21 degrees Celsius and seven degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today. Meanwhile, after cold day conditions on Friday, people in Dehradun witnessed some relief with sunny conditions.
On Friday, the maximum temperature in Dehradun had dropped six degrees below normal to 12.9 degrees Celsius which along with a partially cloudy sky had intensified the cold in the provisional State capital. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 18 degrees Celsius and 7.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 17.4 degrees Celsius and 8.8 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 11.9 degrees Celsius and 1.5 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 13.9 degrees Celsius and 2.9 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature in Dehradun was one degree below normal while the minimum temperature was one degree above normal. Similarly, the maximum temperature was two degrees below normal and the minimum temperature was three degrees above normal in Pantnagar on Saturday.
