Minimum temperature remains lower than normal in Doon and other places
The minimum temperature in Dehradun and some other parts of the State have remained lower than normal during the past few days at a time when the winter is approaching its fag end. On Saturday, the State meteorological centre issued a yellow warning (Watch) regarding the possibility of cold wave conditions likely to occur at a few places in Udham Singh Nagar district on Sunday. Dense fog is likely to occur at a few places in Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar districts today. In addition to this, shallow to moderate fog is likely to occur in some parts of Dehradun, Pauri and Nainital districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the districts of the State on Sunday.
The meteorological centre has further forecast that the provisional State capital Dehradun will witness a mainly clear sky with mist/shallow fog likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 22 degrees Celsius and five degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.
The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various parts of the State on Saturday were 22.1 degrees Celsius and 5.4 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 12 degrees Celsius and 5.5 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14 degrees Celsius and 0.9 degree Celsius in Mukteshwar and 15.6 degrees Celsius and 2.1 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum temperature was a degree above normal while the minimum temperature was two degrees below normal in Dehradun. The maximum temperature in Pantnagar was nine degrees below normal while in Mukteshwar the maximum temperature was one degree above normal and the minimum temperature was one degree below normal. In New Tehri, the minimum temperature was two degrees below normal.
