Weather in State set to take a turn again today

After a brief spell of balmy and clear days in most parts of the state, the weather is forecast to take a turn once again on Thursday. The State meteorological centre has issued a yellow alert regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Uttarakhand on Thursday. Apart from this, very light to light rainfall / thunderstorm / snowfall are likely to occur at a few places in districts of Garhwal region along with Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts of Kumaon region today. Further, very light to light rainfall / thunderstorm / snowfall are likely to occur at isolated places in remaining districts of Uttarakhand. Snowfall is likely to occur at places situated at altitudes of 3,500 metres and above. The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly to generally cloudy sky with the possibility of light rain/thunderstorm which is likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 27 degrees Celsius and 11 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Thursday. It is pertinent to mention here that though the higher reaches experienced snowfall intermittently, most parts of the state experienced clear weather during the past four days. However, now the weather is forecast to take a turn again.
Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures recorded at different places in the state on Wednesday were 27.2 degrees Celsius and 10.6 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 27.1 degrees Celsius and 8.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 14.5 degrees Celsius and 5.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 18 degrees Celsius and 5.8 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
