Even as the effects of rain temporarily disrupted the Yatra at spots in Chamoli and Rudraprayag district on Tuesday, a weather warning has been issued for five districts including the three where the Char Dham shrines are located. The State meteorological centre has issued a warning regarding the possibility of thunderstorm accompanied with hail/lightning/intense shower and gusty winds (30-40 kmph) occuring at isolated places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts on Wednesday.
Further, light to moderate rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at a few places in Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, Chamoli, Bageshwar and Pithoragarh districts while very light to light rainfall/thunderstorm are likely to occur at isolated places in the mountainous parts of the remaining districts today. Apart from this, dry weather is likely to prevail in the plains of Uttarakhand.
The provisional State capital Dehradun is forecast to experience partly cloudy sky on Wednesday with thunder cloud development / light rain likely to occur in some areas. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 37 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun on Wednesday. Meanwhile, rainfall experienced in various parts of the State on Tuesday was measured at 32.5 millimetres in Mukhim, 26.5 millimetres in Berinag, 14.5 millimetres in Song, 11 millimetres in Someshwar, 8.5 millimetres in Jakholi, eight millimetres in Kanda, seven millimetres in Didihat and 6.5 millimetres in Uttarkashi. The maximum and minimum temperatures recorded in various places on Tuesday were 36.8 degrees Celsius and 22 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 37 degrees Celsius and 21.2 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 25.3 degrees Celsius and 9.2 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 27 degrees Celsius and 13.6 degrees Celsius respectively in New Tehri.
