WECD dept releases second installment of incentive to Anganwadi workers

The Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD) minister Rekha Arya has transferred a total amount of Rs 6.72 crore to the bank accounts of Anganwadi workers on Thursday for their contribution as frontline workers during the Covid-19 pandemic across the state. She said that Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami had announced to give an amount of Rs 2,000 per month under Anganwadi Protsahan Rashi scheme to the Anganwadi workers and their assistants for the next five months from September as an incentive for their contribution during the pandemic.
Since the first installment was transferred in October by the CM, Arya transferred the second installment on Thursday to the bank accounts of a total of 33,631 Anganwadi workers. She said that the online transfer of funds saves time and promotes transparency between the government and the beneficiaries. She stated that Anganwadi workers are the backbone of the department considering which the state government has also increased their monthly allowance. She said that the department will continue to transfer the remaining instalments on time too. The WECD secretary HC Semwal and deputy director SK Singh were also present on this occasion.
