WECD minister sanctions Rs three crore for Anganwadi workers for Deepawali

The Woman Empowerment and Child Development minister Rekha Arya sanctioned an incentive of about Rs three crore for over 35,000 Anganwadi workers on the occasion of Deepawali on Friday. Each Anganwadi worker was issued Rs 1,000 by the department. The department has already issued the total allowance amounting to Rs 23.48 crore for October month on Thursday in view of Deepawali. Arya thanked the chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for announcing this Deepawali gift for Anganwadi workers a day before and said that it will motivate the workers to work better and harder in future.
Arya also held a meeting with the officials of the department on Friday. The officials discussed the plan of providing required training to Anganwadi workers besides planning other development for the workers. The WECD minister also directed the officials to prepare a proposal for hostels for sportspersons to be built in districts across the State. She said that the construction of the hostels will help the sportspersons to get the necessary facilities and training which will eventually help them to perform better in sports. The department will also take the assistance of Anganwadi workers of respective districts in carrying out the departmental work, added Arya.
