Week long activities planned for the Women’s Day

The State government would organise a women empowerment, encouragement for women participation and security week to mark the International day for women this year. The week would end on March 8. The week would be organised under joint aegis of the women empowerment and child development department and the home department. A video conferencing session was held on Tuesday by the secretary women and child development HC Semwal in which he reviewed the preparation of the department for the week.
Semwal said that the week-long programme would be inaugurated by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami at his residence on Thursday. In the programme the CM and the cabinet minister would release the e paper and hand over certificates of appreciation to the people engaged in appreciable services in the fields of social work. The CM would also inaugurate a movie and a training programme for imparting self defence techniques to the women in the event. Semwal said that in the women empowerment and women participation and security week programmes would be held at district and block levels in all parts of the state. These programmes would be organised by the district administration, women and child empowerment, police, transport and labour departments. In the week awareness on security of women, health protection to the unskilled women labourers, human trafficking, child marriage, Gaura App, sexual exploitation, women helpline number 1090 and gender discrimination would be held.
