Anupam Kher Sharing an anecdote from his student days in Shimla, Anupam Kher recalled an incident when he and his friend were caught while unsuccessfully attempting to steal two books. He said, “I had taken two books written by James Hadley Chase from the college library.
However, when it was time to return the books, I realized that they were missing. I took Rs 19 from my father to buy the books and went with a friend to a bookshop. The owner’s son was also in the bookshop but we thought he was just a visitor like us. My friend was gesturing to him about sneaking two books away and got a positive response. However, when he took the two books and hid them in his sweater we were caught.”
