Bharatiya Janata Party State spokesman Ravinder Jugran has questioned why the Congress is disturbed if the allegations made by Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) member Ashutosh Dimri on former BKTC chairman and Congress leader Ganesh Godiyal are baseless and weak. The Press conference addressed by senior party leaders on this issue shows that the Congress is defensive and gives more reasons for suspicion, he said.
Jugran said that the former Pradesh Congress Committee president Godiyal should also clarify where he did his graduation from because he is accused of getting the degree from his own private college where the management, principal, teachers and employees were reportedly appointed and paid salaries by him. Jugran said, “It would be good if Godiyal also spoke about his total property before 2002 and the details he has given about his property while filing nomination in 2002, 2007, 2012, 2017 and 2022 compared to his total movable and immovable assets at present.” The BJP spokesman further alleged that the Rs 500 crore scholarship scam took place under present leader of opposition Yashpal Arya but neither him nor the Congress have provided any clarification on it so far.
