Will not tolerate any laxity in development works: CM

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that special emphasis should be laid on the development of mountainous areas of the State for all round development of the State. He undertook a review meeting of the progress of developmental works of the Assembly constituencies of Garhwal parliamentary seat on Friday. The CM told the officers that they should take the issues raised by the MLAs seriously and solve them expeditiously.  He said that instead of foisting the departmental works on others the officers should dispose of them and work with coordination. He suggested that different roasters of short term and long term schemes should be made. 

On a stern note the CM directed that the responsibility of the officers should be fixed for delay in the completion of the announcements made by him. He tersely told the officers that all the works should be completed in a time bound manner and warned that the laxity would not be tolerated. The CM said that a list of officers who are occupying same position from last five years and more should be prepared. He suggested that the MLAs concerned should thoroughly examine the proposals of different announcements. The CM averred that a new work culture is needed to be developed in the State and directed that the officers should remove the issue of the lack of dialogue to dispose of the problems of the general public.

The CM directed that secretaries of the department concerned should take up the issues raised by the MLAs on priority and solve them as soon as possible. He said that the work on the Jal Jeevan Mission should be done at a fast pace. The CM said that the announcements related to increasing tourism in mountainous districts, increasing health facilities and infrastructure development should be completed within the stipulated time period.

 The meeting was attended by the cabinet minister and Chaubattakhal MLA Satpal Maharaj, minsiter and Narendra MLA Subodh Uniyal, minister and Srinagar MLA Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Diwan Singh Bisht (Ramnagar), Anil Nautiyal (Karnprayag), Bhupal Ram Tamta (Tharali), Shaila Rani Rawat (Kedarnath), Bharat Singh Chaudhary (Rudraprayag), Renu Bisht (Yamkeshwar), Rajkumar Pori ( Pauri) and Dilip Rawat ( Lansdowne). The additional chief secretary Radha Raturi, principal secretary RK Sudhanshu and other secretaries were present on the occasion.

 In the meeting the MLAs raised many issues like road construction, repair of canals, works related with flood control, sewer and drainage system, development of the tourist spots and others.
