Winter chill yet to set in, weather to remain dry in State today

The first fortnight of November approaching its completion, the winter chill is yet to approach Dehradun and other parts of the State. According to meteorologists, the lack of rain and snowfall in the post-monsoon season is responsible for temperatures remaining above normal in many places in Uttarakhand. The State meteorological centre has forecast that dry weather is likely to prevail in all the districts of the State on Wednesday. The provisional State capital Dehradun is likely to witness a mainly clear sky with mist/haze likely to occur during the morning hours. The maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be about 28 degrees Celsius and 15 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun today.

Meanwhile, the maximum and minimum temperatures remained above normal in Dehradun and other parts of the State on Tuesday. The maximum and minimum temperatures were 28.2 degrees Celsius and 14.8 degrees Celsius respectively in Dehradun, 28.5 degrees Celsius and 15.6 degrees Celsius in Pantnagar, 20 degrees Celsius and 7.3 degrees Celsius in Mukteshwar and 19.6 degrees Celsius and 9.2 degrees Celsius in New Tehri. The maximum and minimum temperatures were each three degrees Celsius above normal in Dehradun. The maximum was a degree above normal and the minimum was five degrees above normal in Pantnagar. Similarly, the maximum was three degrees above normal and the minimum was a degree above normal in Mukteshwar while the minimum was two degrees above normal in New Tehri.
