The police arrested a doctor on Wednesday for allegedly trying to molest a young woman who was undergoing therapy under his supervision. The officials said that the victim along with her family came to the police station on Tuesday and filed a complaint against two doctors who allegedly tried to molest her while she was undergoing therapy at a centre in Premnagar’s Bidholi area. On the basis of the complaint received, a case was registered at the Premnagar police station under sections 328, 376, 511, 354, 323, 504, 506 and 352 of the Indian Penal Code. The officials said that a team was formed at the police station level to investigate the case and take action against both accused accordingly. They said that on the same day, some family members of the victim went to the said medical centre to talk to both the accused regarding the matter where one of the accused Dr KP Singh reportedly got furious and treated them badly. The police arrested him the same day on the basis of the family’s complaint and evidence against him. He was later presented before the court, as per the officials. They said that a patient claiming doctors tried to molest her is a serious concern and the police team is investigating the case. Further action will be taken according to the evidence gathered by the police, as per the officials.
