A woman and her granddaughter died after being hit by a goods train in Kashipur on Saturday. The police reached the spot on being informed and sent the two bodies for post mortem examination. According to sources, Moradabad resident Hajra (45) was carrying her granddaughter Halima (5), the daughter of Nadeem, who currently resides in Bazpur, Udham Singh Nagar district. Carrying the girl in her arms, Hajra was crossing the railway tracks to board a train. At this time, they were hit by a goods train coming from the direction of Moradabad and going from Kashipur to Rudrapur. The woman and the child reportedly died on the spot.
