Woman jailed 4 times prior arrested again with 1kg ganja

A woman, who had been jailed four times earlier in drug trafficking cases, was arrested with 1.02 of ganja in Patelnagar area in Dehradun on Monday. The police identified the accused as Phoolwati, a resident of Brahmpuri.
The police arrested Phoolwati during a checking drive in the Patelnagar area and recovered 1.02 kg of ganja from her possession. A case under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act was registered against her at Patelnagar police station.
During questioning, the accused is understood to have told the police that she had entered drug trafficking to make quick money. She allegedly planned to sell the ganja in small quantities to local drug users at higher prices and earn a profit.
According to the police, four cases related to drug trafficking are registered against Phoolwati. These include cases registered in 2022, 2025 and two in 2026 under Sections 8/20 and 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act.
The police officers investigating the case said that she had previously been sent to jail in connection with drug trafficking cases.
