A 32-year–old woman allegedly committed suicide after killing her two children using poison late on Monday night in Sahaspur area of Dehradun. The police said that financial constraints in the family appear to be the main reason behind the extreme action in the preliminary inquiry.
The police informed that a 36-year-old man Indra Pal registered a complain in police station on Monday night around 11:30 PM that his wife Saroja Pal along with their two children Ansh (12) and Arnav (7) committed suicide by consuming poison at their home in Sahaspur. Considering the sensitivity of the situation, the police personnel arrived at the scene along with senior police officials immediately and found the woman and two children unconscious. The police informed that they immediately sent the three persons to the government hospital by 108 ambulance. The doctors declared them dead in the hospital.
The senior police officials including senior superintendent of police Daleep Singh Kunwar also conducted inspection of the deceased’s house. The police informed that Panchayatnama and post-mortem were done on Tuesday morning. The police said that the deceased Saroja Pal and her husband Indra Pal basically belong to Uttar Pradesh but have been living in Sahaspur for the past 10 years. The husband works in a company located in the Selaqui area.
According to the police, relatives and neighbours of the deceased revealed in the preliminary inquiry that both husband and wife used to have fights about financial constraints in the family. Though the police found no suicide note from the scene, financial constraints appear to be the main cause of her committing suicide after poisoning her children, as per the police. The police said that they are investigating the matter.
