Woman & three sons caught for murdering Pauri native in Haridwar

A woman and her three sons including a minor have been arrested in the case of the murder of a man whose body was recovered in a grain container on December 1. The accused reportedly killed the man because he was asking them to repay the money he had given them for a plot they had assured.

An unidentified body was found inside a mental container in a rented house in Chand Colony under the Bhagwanpur police station area. The police reached the spot after being informed by the landlord. On Monday, Haridwar senior superintendent of police Ajai Singh informed that the police had arrested four accsed in the case. Addressing the media, he said that the tenants of the house where the body was found were not verified by the landlord, due to which the police had to struggle to trace the suspects. The police had found a company document from the pocket of the deceased, on the basis of which the deceased was identified as Pauri native Nitin Bhandari by the police and after contacting the relatives, a case was registered and investigation was started. On the basis of the mobile numbers found on the phone of the deceased, the police team reached the suspects who were staying in different cities- Jaipur, Noida, Bulandshahr and Ghaziabad after the incident.  The involved accused Gulshan and her sons Azad, Naushad and a minor have been arrested and were to be produced before the court.

Singh said that the accused had taken about Rs 2.5 lakh rupees in lieu of getting a plot to the deceased. As they had not been able to get him the plot, Bhandari was demanding his money back due to which the accused allegedly murdered him. The crime was carried out by the accused on the night of November 27 and on the next day they brought a large container used for storing grains and concealed Bhandari’s body in it. The four accused vacated the rentended accommodation and left town after concealing the body. The SSP has announced a cash reward of Rs 25,000 for the police team which cracked the case.
