Women are the backbone of U’khand’s economy: Dhami

Chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami took out a road show in Pauri on Saturday. He attended the ‘Disha Dhyani Bwei Bwari’ programme held at Ransi stadium. Speaking on the occasion he said that Pauri is the centre of cultural consciousness and is the land of Teelu Rauteli, Veer Madho Singh Bhandari, Jaswant Singh Rawat and the first CDS of India, general Bipin Rawat. Lauding the exhibition on local products by the women self help groups, the CM said that women are endeavouring to bring the mantra of Atmanirbhar Bharat and vocal for local on ground. He said that women are making SHGs in the remote areas of the State and are lending momentum to the rural economy.
The CM said that the State government has made the most stringent anti-copying law and has made a law to prevent religious conversions. The State government also gave 30 per cent reservation to the women of the State in government jobs. Dhami said that the State government is moving forward in the direction of implementing Uniform Civil Code (UCC) in the state and the expert committee on UCC has submitted its draft to the government. He said that the state government is working with dedication to fulfil the vision the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has for the State.
The CM also inaugurated and laid foundation stones of 335 development schemes for Pauri district in the programme. He said that these projects will help in the development of the area.
In his address the CM informed about the schemes of women empowerment of the state government and said that women are the backbone of the mountainous State. He said that women are taking advantage of schemes of the government such as ‘Ujjwala Yojana’ and contributing to the progress of the state.
In the programme the CM unveiled a statue of late General Bipin Rawat and released a coffee table book on Ganga Path by the tourism department.
The cabinet ministers Satpal Maharaj and Dhan Singh Rawat, MLAs Rajkumar Pori, Dilip Rawat, Renu Bisht, district panchayat president Shanti Devi and others were present on the occasion.
