The traffic police of Dehradun has formed a traffic women patrolling squad to tackle the issue of random parking across the city through special clamp mobile vehicles. The Superintendent of Police (Traffic) Akshay Konde has formed the squad to tackle the poor traffic sense of people, especially the practice of randomly parking the vehicle anywhere across the city. According to him, many people have a tendency here to park the vehicle anywhere as per their convenience while completely ignoring how it causes several traffic-related issues in many areas on a daily basis. To tackle such issues, the police formed a traffic women patrolling squad which has started to make efforts against such violations as towing the vehicle and using wheel clamps to ensure effective traffic management, as per Konde. He asserted that this initiative will also spread awareness among people to follow the traffic rules when they operate or park their vehicles.
He said that this all-women squad would patrol designated areas of the city to take action against such violations, which would possibly encourage people to follow traffic rules like parking their vehicles at designated places.
