Women put up no liquor board in Gairsain village

In latest news from Uttarakhand, members of the Mahila Mangal Dal from Pajyana village under Gairsain block in Chamoli district put up prohibition board at the bordering areas of the village. Notably, the women villagers had gathered a few days ago and passed resolution on prohibition. Thereafter, they had appealed to Gairsain police station to cooperate with them on the matter.
Explaining their stand, a senior Mahila Mangal Dal functionary Anjna Rawat said that boozing is ruining families and the women keep suffering on this count. They had put up such boards at Pjyana Khal, taxi stand and Jwalasain, she said and added that those who would be found consuming and supplying liquor would be made to pay penalties.
