The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami directed senior officials to work continuously and on a larger scale for the conservation and revival of natural water sources while chairing a review meeting involving Irrigation, Minor Irrigation and Rural Construction departments in the Secretariat on Friday. He urged these departments and civic bodies to work together for rainwater harvesting in the urban areas while stressing on groundwater recharge. Also, he laid stress on innovation instead of old traditions for these works. Drainage works in the urban areas and silt deposit removal works in rivers and reservoirs figured prominently in the meeting.
Specifically, the CM directed to expedite the Jamrani and Song Dam projects.
Among those present at the meeting were the chief secretary Radha Raturi, additional chief secretary Anand Bardhan and principal secretary R. Meenakshi Sundaram.
