Work on Najibabad-Kotdwar highway to start soon on Speaker Khanduri’s initiative

At the initiative of the Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha Speaker Ritu Khanduri Bhushan, the work on the highway connecting Najibabad and Kotdwar will start soon. The inspection work on this project has already been completed and all clearances have been received. Khanduri expressed her dismay while in Delhi to the secretary of the Union ministry of road transport and highways Anurag Jain over the delay in starting the road construction project despite its approval. Jain is understood to have directed the officials concerned to start the project at the earliest by chopping trees.
Khanduri said that the people have been facing problems due to the delay in constructing this road. She also asked the secretary Jain to sanction funds for building bridge on Kolhu Chaur river in Dugadda and repairing of the 12 km stretch of the Chillarkhal-Sigaddi-Kotdwar-Pakhro motor marg. Jain assured the Uttarakhand Speaker of considering the matters raised by her seriously and of full cooperation from the Union Government for development of Kotdwar.
