A one-day workshop for orientation of stakeholders for prevention of tobacco consumption in the State was organised at Chandannagar on Tuesday. The workshop was organised under the aegis of the National Tobacco Control Programme (NTCP) of the National Health Mission (NHM) and focussed on the effective implementation of the Cigarette and other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA) -2003.
In the programme discussions were held on different activities of the NTCP. The workshop was chaired by the State nodal officer (NTCP) Dr Aditya Singh. He gave direction to the representatives of the department on effective implementation of the COTPA 2003 and assistance of different departments in the endeavour.
The workshop was attended by the CO crime, Vivek Singh Kutiyal, deputy commissioner food safety department GC Kandwal, additional CMO of Dehradun Dr Nidhi Rawat, ACMO of Pauri Dr Ramesh Kunwar and others.
