Workshop held on ZED certification for MSME

A workshop Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sustainable ZED certification scheme was organised here on Saturday.
The joint director of MSME, Government of India, Atish Kumar Singh was the chief guest in the workshop. Addressing the gathering, he appealed to the industry to take the ZED certification and also delved on the schemes of the Union government.
Speaking on the occasion the State’s Industries director SC Nautiyal said that the objective of the workshop was to create awareness about Zero Defect Zero Effect (ZED) scheme and encourage the entrepreneurs to take the ZED certification. The scheme has been designed to make the products competitive in the international markets by spreading awareness, evaluation, pricing, consultancy, handholding, review and certification.
In the programme Nautiyal gave a detailed account of the incentives offered by the directorate industries for entrepreneurs. In the technical session, ZED consultant Niraj Kumar explained the benefits of the ZED scheme. The officers of Industries directorate, Khadi board, MSME-TC Sitarganj, District Industries Centre Dehradun, NSIC Dehradun, Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI), CIPET Dehradun and Electronics Services and Training Centre (ESTC) Ramnagar participated in the workshop.
