World Health Day celebrated at Military Station Roorkee

The World Health Day 2024 was celebrated at Military Station Roorkee by Military Hospital and SHO (L) on April 8 and 9 and the theme of the commemorative event was ‘My Health My Right’.
While an inter-school drawing and poster competition was organised at Army Public School (APS) No 1, a lecture on ‘World Health Day and its importance’ was delivered by the Officer Commanding, SHO (L) Roorkee, Major K Sumit in which he expounded ‘Right to Health’. Besides, a panel discussion on adolescent health was organised on April 9 where expert panellists- Commandant, Military Hospital Roorkee, Brigadier V V Tewari; gynaecologist, Military Hospital Roorkee, Major Souvik Nandy; nursing officer Lieutenant Colonel Jay Shree and Officer Commanding, SHO (L) Roorkee Major K Sumit spoke on adolescent health. The discussion was moderated by teacher from APS No 1 Sumati Sharma.
The panel discussion was followed by prize distribution of poster competition presided over by the Commandant, Military Hospital Roorkee Brigadier V V Tewari and the principal, APS No 1 Ritu Dogra. In all, 115 students and teachers attended the event.
