The Himalayan Hospital organised an awareness campaign on its premises on Saturday to observe World Optometry Day. During the campaign, students provided information to visitors about safe eye care treatment and raised awareness about eye diseases, prevention of eye disorders, paediatric vision care and vision care for the digital world through plays and poster exhibitions.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Sukhdeep Bains from the eye department Dr Sukhdeep Bains said that the purpose of celebrating this day is to advance the commitment of optometry towards global eye care. World Optometry Day focuses on the significance of the optometry profession and its contributions, Bains said.
Further, vice principal of paramedical sciences, Kiran Bhatt said that optometrists play a crucial role in the eye care system by providing safe eye health services and reducing vision loss.
