Would develop sports centre in every district- CM Dhami

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that at least one sports centre would be developed in every district of the state. He was addressing a webinar on ‘Surya Namaskar- Devbhoomi Parampara Ka Adbhut Uphar’ on Wednesday. The programme was organised under joint aegis of Navyog Sewa Samiti, CCRYN, Ministry of Ayush and Uttarakhand Open University.
Dhami said that efforts are being made to convert the Sports College Raipur into an international sports university. He said that 50 boys and an equal number of girls of age group 8 to 14 years would be selected on the basis of their sporting talent for the CM’s scholarship. He added that a women’s Sport College would be set up in Udham Singh Nagar district and a Five per cent quota would be reserved for sportspersons in the colleges and vocational courses.
Dhami also performed Yoga Asans and Surya Namaskar on the occasion. He said that the Surya Asan helps in maintaining a healthy body. The CM added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi takes the help of Yoga to remain physically and mentally fit and Surya Namaskar is his favourite Asan.
Ram Katha teller Atul Krishna Bharadwaj, Vice Chancellor of LBS National Sanskrit University R K Pandey, VC of Uttarakhand Open University Om Prakash Negi and others participated in the session.
