Would make necessary changes in Sports policy to promote players- CM

The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has said that the State government has made many such provisions in its new sports policy which would help the sportspersons of the State to achieve new heights in their respective fields. He inaugurated the ‘Uttarakhand State Senior Badminton competition’ at the multipurpose sports building, Parade ground here on Thursday. The completion would end on August 21. To liven up the proceedings which also helped in lifting morale of participants, Dhami played the game with the participants. Speaking on the occasion, the CM said that the sportspersons of the State are performing exceedingly well in different sports both at the national and international level. He said that our sportspersons have achieved a unique place for themselves by their hard work, commitment and steely resolve. Dhami said that the players fulfil their dreams with the help of their toil and hard work. He said that the feelings of the local people, state and countrymen are associated with the sportspersons and their success. Dhami said that the success story of one player inspires many other players. The CM said that enthusiasm infuses energy in the human being and commitment and mental toughness takes one further on the path of success. He said that today India is moving ahead in every field as a leader and new India is getting constructed. The CM said that our country has now entered into its golden phase ( Amrit Kal) and everyone should understand his or her responsibility in this period so that the country moves ahead on the path of development. He said that the State government has come up with a new Sports policy for encouraging the sportspersons. CM added that new amendments and improvements in the sports policy would be made from time to time as per the requirements of the players.
The President of Uttarakhand State Badminton Association (USBA) Alaknanda Ashok, secretary B S Mankoti, D K Sen (father of Lakshya Sen), Harish Joshi and others were present on the occasion.
