Yadav calls for deliberation on forestry related models for next 25 years

The Union minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change, Bhupendra Yadav chaired the annual general meeting of the Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) Society here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, the minister who is also president of the society said that a day long deliberation session should be held to discuss the models which the institution can provide for the next 25 years for forestry, research, agro forestry and other related spheres. Union minister of State, MoEFCC, Ashwini Kumar Choubey and the director general of forests and special secretary CP Goyal also addressed the gathering on the occasion. The ICFRE director general Arun Singh Rawat made a presentation on salient initiatives and achievements of the council.
The annual report of ICFRE for the year 2020-21 was presented along with annual audited account of the year in the AGM. The annual report for the year 2020-21 is a brief account of research, education and extension activities performed in various sectors of forestry, environment and climate change during the year. It discusses projects undertaken by ICFRE institutes. Both the documents were discussed and then unanimously adopted by the society for placing the same on the tables of both the houses of the Parliament.
